Translation / Context — first pass

Handwritten Korean manuscript — first-pass transcription in progress. Pang Hak-se (Bang Hak-se) was the first head of the DPRK's security apparatus (State Political Security Bureau / 보위부), effectively the secret police. A Soviet Korean, he oversaw political repression in the early DPRK. He was later purged by Kim Il-sung. His entry, at only 4 pages, is surprisingly brief given his historical significance.
